If you're like most Jaleo users, you've grown frustrated with trying to conform a multi-layer offline with a series of clunky EDLs, the state of the art for 1981. fcp2jaleo uses the XML export feature in Final Cut Pro 4+ to improve markedly on the traditional Jaleo EDL import utility. Here are some basic advantages:

• Easy multi-layer, mutli-track offline ingestation
• Management of non-timecoded material like audio files (no more re-editing voice overs)
• Placement of tiff files, etc.
• Smooth, curve-based dissolves rather than the jumpy default ones from Jaleo
• Audio dissolves show up as curved volume ramps
