- Improved EDL Import
EDL import on Jaleo has always been an issue for me. I want to build something to:
- improve drop/non-drop detection on tapes
- fix slow-motion problems
- set TC origin
- allow tape #s of more than 3 digits
- use AVID clip names as suggested Jaleo clip names
- use spline dissolves (not the crappy default ones)
- add deinterlacing effects to all slow-motin clips, build render scripts, & batch renmders
- join all split clips.
- and much, much more.
- OMFI Import (composition only)
This is the big daddy, the Holy Grayle. If I can somehow read an OMFI from an Avid or FCP offline system, then I'd probably never us Jaleo's EDL import again. Not only could I fix some of the nagging issues with RTVideo's edl parser, but I could also work around some of the issues the 1970's-era EDL format never forsaw, like non-timecoded source material.
- .js Conversion
I'm not sure if I'm allowed (or will ever be able) to do this, but it would be very helpful to be able to allow my co-workers to render directly to my MATERIAL drive in Jaleo format instead of working around SGI's Quicktime limitations.
- Passive Clip Database
It might be interesting to have flunky keep a log of every clip I ever used, where it's backed up, what master if was used on, etc. I'm not sure if I'd have a real need for this, so I'm tabling it for now.
